If you suffer with a chronic physical condition or even just general aches and pains, it might be time to consider investing in a riser recliner. Riser recliner chairs are built to provide comfort and to assist in sitting down and standing up, but there are many other factors which you may want to consider, such as:
- What are the various models, styles, functions, features and benefits available?
- Which chair will provide the most comfort and support for my body?
- What will the cost be?
- What chair is the best option for my room?
All too often, people choose a chair on impulse, perhaps because it looks good in a glossy magazine, or because the cost is relatively low, but it’s important to remember that the main reason for purchasing a riser recliner should be that it is the right chair for you. Trying a chair out where possible is always advantageous, but if you can’t, then be sure to research your chair properly and opt for quality over price where possible. A good, well-made riser recliner should last for years and give comfort and support every day.
When choosing a riser recliner, you may want to consider the difference between a dual and a single motor chair. A dual motor chair gives you complete independent control of both the back of the chair and the footrest. So, you are able to have your chair with the footrest reclined whilst keeping the back in an upright position and vice versa. A single motor on the other hand allows you to raise the footrest independently of the back. The backrest can be reclined once the footrest has reached its elevation point.
Another important factor is the space in which your new chair will be positioned. For example, a standard riser recliner will require a good amount of space both behind and in front of the chair. You should ensure that you find out the dimensions of your preferred chair before buying.
Finally, you may want to consider how your chair is finished. There are a wide range of fabrics and colours to choose from, but a wipeable leather covered chair may be a wiser option for those who have pets or young grandchildren!
