Training Packages

We’ve learned a thing or two over the last 30 years which puts us in the perfect position to pass on our knowledge to your people. Our bespoke training packages are created specifically for your team because a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work when it comes to sharing knowledge. We all learn in different ways, but the most effective form of education is engagement.

Our skilled and knowledgeable staff offer a variety of cost-effective training packages which can be delivered to your team on site. Whether it’s a refresher course on COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) or The Safe Moving and Handling of People, B&M Supplies can help.

Shockingly, about a third of all workplace accidents reported to the HSE are as a direct result of handling, lifting or carrying objects incorrectly.

Manual handling is classed as any transporting or supporting of a load (including the lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving) by hand or bodily force.

Our Object Handling course is designed for those not associated to a specific care role eg Cooks, Maintenance or Housekeepers.

During this training course your staff will learn about:

  • Legislation and the law
  • The spine and types of injuries
  • risk assessment and T.I.L.E (control measures and reducing the risk of harm)
  • Principles of safe lifting
  • Unsafe systems of work
  • Practical session and assessment

Particularly useful for teams working in care settings. Our course aims to be as informative as possible whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. The input of students is always welcomed and encouraged and often produces a more knowledgeable outcome.

During this training course your staff will learn about:

Our aims and objectives are:

  • To gain a better understanding of continence promotion and management
  • To assist with effective product selection

Our product training sessions are tailored to your carehome’s individual needs and cover topics such as:

  • Product selection and application
  • How a product works
  • absorbency levels
  • Skincare
  • Features and benefits

The Law requires employers to control exposure to hazardous substances to prevent ill health. Every year thousands of workers are made ill by hazardous substances, contracting lung diseases such as asthma, cancer and skin disease such as dermatitis – many of which are avoidable.

COSHH is designed to promote the safe use of chemical products and their application and our training course is designed to outline the risks and make staff aware of the necessary precautions needed.

During this training course your staff will learn about:

  • Do’s and don’ts
  • Identifying warning signs
  • Data sheet information
  • Product wall charts/product use/guides/information sheets
  • Your legal obligations and responsibilities

All courses taken will receive individual certificates. Please get in touch with the B&M team to learn more about our courses or to make a booking.
